Final Fantasy XIV's next expansion, Evercold, will launch on February 23, 2027, Square Enix has announced. Square Enix revealed Evercold in April with a January 2027 launch window.
Preorders are set to open on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Early access for players who preorder is scheduled to begin on Friday, February 19, 2027 at 1 a.m. PST, or 9 a.m. UTC.
Evercold is the online game's sixth expansion. Its story takes players to the Fourth, a world gripped by ice. The official site lists two new jobs, or combat roles. Bastion is a tank, while Zephyr fights from a distance with a crossbow. The level cap will rise from 100 to 110.
The two jobs will only use the new Evolved combat mode. Square Enix says that mode is designed to make each job feel more distinct. A separate Reborn mode builds on the current combat system.
Some of the wider updates will reach players who do not buy Evercold. Square Enix lists the new battle system and housing changes among them. The site warns that some listed content may arrive in later patches, and that features are still in development.
