GOG plans to bring GOG Galaxy to Linux in 2027. The company announced the new launcher during its first GOG Showcase on November 5, alongside a redesign for Windows and Mac.

Its anniversary page puts the new client under “Coming In 2027” and invites players to sign up for the beta. It gives no month or quarter. Signing up does not come with a promise of immediate access.

GOG says the redesigned Windows and Mac client will run faster and make libraries easier to view. The anniversary page also lists a modern interface and more ways to customize it.

The company says Galaxy will remain optional. Players will still be able to download and keep game installers without using the launcher. That preserves the option of backing up purchases outside the client.

Each game’s Linux support is still a separate issue. These announcements do not promise new Linux versions of the store’s Windows games or give a list of supported Linux systems.

GOG also opened sign-ups for a separate closed beta of GOG Social. The community space will support screenshots, videos, polls and threaded replies. Users will follow topics and use spoiler tags, according to the company. The anniversary timeline also places that project in 2027.
