Nintendo kept its full-year Switch 2 sales target at 16.5 million on November 5. That follows a 37.4% fall in first-half hardware sales. The company's latest results put April–September 2026 sales at 6.49 million consoles, down from 10.36 million a year earlier.

To hit that goal, Nintendo needs to sell another 10.01 million consoles between October 2026 and March 2027. It accounts for roughly 61% of the full-year goal.

The figures measure sell-in: units Nintendo sells to business partners and directly to consumers. They do not give a separate total for consoles that shoppers bought from other retailers.

Sales also slowed within the financial year. Nintendo sold 2.67 million Switch 2 consoles in July–September, compared with 3.82 million in April–June. The 37.4% decline compares the first six months with the same period in 2025, rather than those two quarters.

Game sales moved in the other direction. Switch 2 software reached 24.49 million units in April–September, up 18.8% from a year earlier.

The August 6 forecast already carried the same 16.5 million hardware goal. That target is 16.9% below the 19.86 million Switch 2 consoles sold in the previous financial year.
